Dear Madam Pelosi:

Updated: Jan 22, 2019

I am writing today to offer my heartfelt congratulations on your becoming the first female President of the United States. I don’t know if anyone other than the three fates could have choreographed it better. As a nation, we were reeling from President Trump's fatal stroke, which was likely brought on by the stress of the Mueller investigation, but let’s be honest, his fast food diet didn’t help. The day following Trump’s funeral, which was poorly attended, Robert Mueller released his report for God and the world to see. My heart goes out to that man. There he was, enjoying retirement, when he gets a call from an old buddy saying he is the only guy who can conduct the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign. Mueller accepted the challenge and proceeded to prove Russian collusion. Mueller found Russians EVERYWHERE, including the office of the Vice President of the United States.

In those tumultuous months right before Trump’s stroke, when the debate as to whether a sitting president could be indicted finally reached the Supreme Court, I thought our nation would certainly erupt into civil war. Thank God our better angels prevailed. Through the efforts of patriots like you, the president did not succeed in the destruction of our American ideals. Robert Mueller unveiled a beacon of hope that fateful day in February when he shared with the world what he had discovered. We have been through some unprecedented events in these past few years, but the level of corruption in the scandal dubbed “Papa Putin Does Washington,” is beyond comprehension. The mighty have fallen and luckily Mike Pence, along with Trump’s children, scores of Senators and Congressmen and women, and even a few federal judges will have years to think about what they were willing to do to this country to keep their depraved behavior from being made public. Maybe Mike can form a prayer group for everyone while they serve their sentences together.

Again, my warmest and sincerest congratulations, and as a small cog in the machine, with little to no power at all, I would offer to help re-establish America’s place on the world stage, but I am afraid that is above my paygrade.

Sincerely,

Trina Spillman

I liked this letter, but I'm not sure if the thought comforts me, or makes me more nervous.
